Kambi reports record betting numbers during World Darts Championship final

Last night’s Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Darts Championship final grabbed headlines in a number of ways, with Luke Humphries making a dramatic comeback against 16-year-old sensation Luke Littler. 

With all the attention surrounding the final, Kambi has announced that the final itself was the most bet-on darts event in the supplier's history. 

According to its data, the number of bets on last night’s event was 45% higher than last year’s final between Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen, and the number of bets on this year’s World Darts Championship increased 63% compared to last year’s tournament within the US. 

Kambi's SVP Trading, Simon Noy, said: "The PDC World Darts Championship final has always been a highlight of the sporting calendar, but interest in last night’s final was truly remarkable. Paddy Power, through its ‘Big 180,’ campaign has pledged £1m ($1.3m) will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK after a record number of 180s were hit during the World Darts Championship. 

Also, BetMGM has announced that it will become the new title sponsor of Premier League Darts, ahead of the 2024 campaign.
